Continued back pain of my daughter aged six and half years
Patient's Name: ABELMOSCHUS160017ESCULENTUS
Medical history of my daughter aged six and half yearsSince March, 2013 my daughter is having recurrent episodes of high fever and was treated at our local hospital. Copies of the relevant pages from her medical book are attached for the details (after de-identification).
Past three months my daughter was complaining of buttock pains and we had noticed that she was not willing to attend schools and sit straight on any surface even at home as well as in car. During this period she had mild impact in the back with stone while playing in a slide at our park but we don't remember whether she had started complaining about her buttock pains only after that. However, we had not asked for medical advice from the beginning as we thought she would be alright in due course of time automatically. As the pain gradually started increasing we had taken her to a reputed pediatrician located in our nearby metro city on 25th of May who had ultimately referred her to a neurologist. The neurologist had prescribed medicines for one month (copy of the prescription attached).
On 30th of May, she had fever since early morning and had two episodes of seizure (duration of 1-2 minutes each). She had seizures with high fevers 3-4 times during our stay in ... and we were told that seizures like this are very common to children within the age group of 1-5 years. To observe and monitor her condition properly she was admitted at our local hospital for that night. On 31st may she was sent to another hospital in our nearest metro city for detailed investigation. She was admitted there for next nine days as she was diagnosed of having acute hepatitis A infection. Copies of the discharge summary and investigation reports are attached herewith for your kind information. At present she is taking rest at home and is on restricted diet as advised.
Although she is recovering from hepatitis infection, there is no relief from her buttock pain. The pain is now initiated from her lower back region and is getting extended up to the back of her knee. The region has become so sensitive that even a mild touch is creating problem. She is also complaining of acute pain in that region while passing stool. Since 24th of June couple of neurologists and orthopedic surgeons in ...metro-city had examined her thoroughly but no appropriate treatment has been advised by them which is evident from their attached prescriptions.
Lumber Spine MRI has not detected any significant abnormalities (copy enclosed). She is at present on pain killers, I guess, and on some other medicines. Prof ... (ex-Neuro Surgeon of ... Hospital Metro-City) had also seen the patient along with all the reports but had not prescribed any... Prof. had asked us to meet him again on next Wednesday to consult another neurologist in presence of him. Doctors are giving indications that this could be a psychological problem which we cannot digest.
